hi, i'm sasha

goals

1. satisfy my wanderlust; see more of the world

I come from a home with parents of different ethnicities. This has given me the chance to embrace two different cultures my whole life. 그리고 어렸을 때부터 한글도 배웠습니다 (and I was able to learn Korean from a young age)

I was fortunate enough to spend much of my childhood in Asia and this allowed me the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the region. My desire to travel has never lost traction - there will never be too much to see in this world!

2. powerlifting: 57kg; total > 300kg

After a long hiatus, I started to actively lift weights again in the middle of 2016 with a focus on powerlifting. Towards the end of the year, I went to a powerlifting meet as a spectator and that is when my passion for the sport began to grow.

There is still a long way to go and a lot to learn but it has been a fun journey thus far. I have set some personal goals for myself and I can't wait to get to the point where I look back at where I am now and see how far I've come.

3. continue to learn about different front-end technologies

Design has always been something that has sustained my interest; and I have always loved solving puzzles. Putting code + design together to do something, such as create a website, allows me to combine two things I enjoy.

I find it gratifying to continuously enhance my development skills in my spare time. Given the volume of online tools and forums, I've always been inspired to never stop learning.

4. dabble in more photography

Photography has always captivated me. Although I find it fascinating, it has never been something that I have invested much time in.

I want to change that and become knowledgeable, skillful in the profession. Moving forward I will utilize the tools I received as gifts, as a token of inspiration to help express my artistic side, to take pictures that I will treasure.

5. Be involved!

Being associated with different groups, clubs, and organizations has always been something that I strived for.

Although I have stayed very active at my company through numerous outlets, (hackathons, conferences, training sessions, panels, community volunteer events, etc.) I want to be more involved in the community - with a focus on helping to close the gender gap in technology.
